Vice President JD Vance further fueled the distortion, suggesting Good was a victim of “left-wing ideology” who deliberately targeted ICE officers.
Amplification by MAGA Influencers

Prominent MAGA influencers, including podcaster Matt Walsh and visiting fellow Robby Starbuck of the Heritage Foundation, amplified the false claims. Walsh, in a post viewed nearly 700,000 times, asserted Good “rammed her car” into the agent, directly contradicting video evidence. Starbuck labeled the shooting “textbook self-defense.” Conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec went further, warning of retaliatory violence against ICE agents and their families.

Local officials strongly refuted these claims. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey dismissed the administration’s version as “bullshit,” and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz blamed Trump’s policies for creating a climate of fear and conflict that led to the tragedy. Despite this clear opposition, the administration and its allies continued to double down on the fabricated narrative. Trump himself presented misleading video footage to reporters, claiming it showed Good running over the agent, before trailing off when challenged.
